Birthday Blizzard!

March 24th is supposed to be considered spring, right?? Tulips blooming and birds chirping? That was not so much the case this year. Growing up in Minnesota and now living in Colorado I actually think more often than not there's snow on the ground for my bday. This year didn't stray from the norm. The snow started falling (and by falling I mean dumping) in the evening the night before and kept falling throughout the night. This is what we woke up to Bday morning...

Check out those drifts! Yikes!

After my hunky husband shoveled the driveway...

Colorado has some kickin' sun, so after work this is what I came home to...

Love that sun!

You never know what to expect on March 24th when it comes to weather, but one thing you can always count on to happen on this day is eating GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE! My FAVORITE!!! My mom made it for me every birthday growing up and I'm continuing the tradition. yum. PS - don't mind the big chunk of cake missing in the picture... I made it the night before and couldn't resist digging in (oink, oink). I can blame that on being prego though, right?

Baby Hags even got me a card! He's such a sweet baby already. :)

Thanks for a great day, honey bunny!

Belly Shot! 34 Weeks

For all of you that love belly shots, here I am at 34 weeks! I'm feeling HUGE but know I'm only going to get bigger... and that'll happen soon! I just had my 34 week appointment today and everything with the babe is going great! I can't wait to meet our little bundle (and have a cocktail) soon!! Only six more weeks to go.. hopefully not more than that! Can't wait!

We Will Miss You Johnson Family!

Our dear Denver friends, Kelly & Erica Johnson, and their three great kids are moving away. :( Matt is childhood friends with both Kelly and Erica and we have been fortunate to live in the same town as them for the last couple of years (over 10 for Matt). Kelly got a job in Seattle so him and the fam packed up and are moving out. Although it's a great opportunity for them, we'll still miss them dearly!

Last Sunday Asa and Erin hosted a Going Away Party for the Johnson's. It was so great to hang out with the group one last time, eat pizza and cake, and of course share a lot of laughs. Below are a few pictures from the party. We'll miss you guys!!

32 Week Appointment

Last Thursday Matt and I went to our 32 week appointment at the Perinatology Department. We just love going to our "high risk" appointments there because they have such great ultra sound machines! We were even surprised as to how in-depth we got to see our baby - we got to see him in 3D! Although I've always thought 3D pics are a little odd looking, it is very cool when it's your own baby and you get to see him with such great description! Quite a few comments have been made that he looks like Matt. Lucky guy. :)

Health wise he's doing great. He's tough! All of his measurements looked good too, except one was a little off.... he has a big head! Yikes! Can I schedule a c-section now? ;)

The first pic is a profile of his face and the second is a 3D face shot. Matt also took some videos of the ultra sound. The first video is pretty cool as it shows the blood flow in the umbilical cord, his belly, and all four chambers of his heart beating. It does start off with him flashing the camera though, so sorry for that. I hope he doesn't turn into a streaker as he's not shy about showing off that area. ;) The second video is the 3D shot of his face. Again, we were completely surprised to get to see this view - super cool! We just love our baby so much and this appointment has made us even more excited to meet him!

Denver Baby Shower

Last weekend Kristin hosted a baby shower for me. :) It wasn't your typical baby shower as it was in the evening and the theme was "Booties and Bottles"... booties for me and the babe and bottles (of wine) for the rest of the girls. Ha! It was perfect! We chatted the night away, played Baby Scattergories, and ate a ton of yummy food. My friends are great cooks! It was a great night! Thank you so much to everyone who came and thank you for all of your generous gifts - our baby is so lucky and has so much nice stuff already!

I wish I would have gotten my camera out earlier because the pic below is my only one from the night - it's missing half of the girls. The girls in the pic are the late night party animals. ;) Thanks for a great night!

Chris and Erin Came to Visit!

Mid February Matt and I got some company that we were very excited about - Chris and Erin (and their bun in the oven)!! We love getting together with these two as they're hilarious and super fun to be around. Being the true best friends that they are, Matt and Chris start talking in their own language when they get together and their story telling is the best as both of them exaggerate equally. It cracks Erin and I up.

The weekend was perfect and extremely relaxing as we spent the majority of it on the couch chatting, watching the Olympics, and eating a ton! We did make it out of the house every day though so we weren't complete couch potatoes.... or so we told ourselves.

One of the more fun topics of conversation for the weekend was our babies!!! Erin is due at the end of May so in these pictures she was 26 week pregnant and I was 29. Although C&E weren't trying to get pregnant as early as they did we are very excited they did so we can experience our pregnancies together! So fun! They aren't going to find out the gender of their baby so tune in to future posts to find out what they had! We're super excited for them and cannot wait to spend a week in Bemus this summer together with our new families. :) :)

Wedding Season 2010! Brian & Hannah

Mid-February we were off again to another wedding - this time to Moorhead, MN for Brian and Hannah's wedding on February 13th. You may think they're crazy for getting married in Fargo/Moorhead in February, but the weather was actually really beautiful with a ton of white snow on the ground and a bright sun in the sky. ... it was still really cold though - us Coloradans are wimpy!!

It was just a quick weekend trip for Matt and me. We were very excited for it though, as we got to spend time with family and celebrate my "little" brother getting married. I can't believe he's so grown up! He's supposed to be so little! I have to admit though, he and Hannah are a great pair and I'm very happy for them!!

The party started on Friday with rehearsal at the church followed by a dinner hosted by my parents at a near by country club.

Saturday was the big day!! The ceremony was beautiful, and so was the bride! Jess, Andrea and I were all bridesmaids, Kelly was a groomsman, Taylor was the flower girl, Brian S and Matt were ushers, and Matt also sang/played guitar during the lighting of the unity candle.

Brian with all of the grandkids..

The fam. I'm so excited to have a new sister! Welcome to the family, Hannah! Good work Brian. :)

On the way to the reception we stopped to take pictures outside. Although it was FREEZING it was totally worth it. The pictures are going to turn out super cute! Hannah had planned to change dresses for the reception so she was a trooper and did a snow angel and got my bro to jump in the snow with her. I can't wait to see the pictures!

Beej and I comparing our bellies. :) I was 28 weeks pregnant.

I had to post this pic. Brian and Hannah had this ice sculpture at their reception and everyone loved taking pictures with it. My dad saw it outside the next day and this is how he chose to pose with it. Ha! It cracks me up!
It was a great night and everyone had a ton of fun! Congrats Brian and Hannah! Love you guys! I hope you had a great honeymoon!
