Fall Festival

Bodee's school hosted a Fall Festival this weekend.  There was a magician, trick-or-treating, coloring, a pumpkin carving contest... very exciting!  :)  Bodee dressed up as a monkey.  We had a great time!

Bodee with his teachers - Ms. Kayla, Ms. Janelle, and Ms. Erin.

Intense arts and crafts..

Half of Bodee's classmates were there so we lined them up for a pic...

It was so nice out this afternoon that we hit up the park for some more SWINGING!  B loves it!!

Snip snip snip...

I finally did it... I chopped off over 10 inches of my hair to donate! It will be made into a wig for a little boy or girl who has lost their hair for any medical reason. I feel so happy knowing that it will make some little boy or girl feel good and confident in themselves as they'll have hair again.

I've always wanted to donate my hair but think it finally hit me that I really should do it after watching my mom lose her hair as she battled breast cancer. She was so proud and strong sporting her inch long hair, but before it grew that long I know she felt comfort in wearing a wig as it made her feel normal again.

As you know, I've also battled cancer but was lucky enough that the treatment I received did not cause me to lose my hair (well, besides the chunk across my forehead. Remember my nickname - Frankenwife?). ;) I was fortunate enough to not lose my hair, but so many people battling diseases like cancer are not. It was the least I could do to donate my hair, and I'm so glad I did. Here's the "after" pic:

I donated my hair to Children with Hairloss. The more commonly known hair donation organization, Locks of Love, does not accept hair with any sort of color treatment and my hair had been hi-lighted. For those of you out there looking to donate your color treated hair please check out Children with Hairloss here: http://www.childrenwithhairloss.us/

Pig Out!

Last night we fed Bodee his first meal of "solid" food... which consisted of a little bit of rice cereal mixed in with milk. :) Eating using a spoon and "chewing" was very new to him, but once he sort of got the motions down we couldn't feed him fast enough. He was a hungry little boy! His bib was pretty soaked afterword, but we think we got some of it in his mouth! He did great! Baby food - see you soon!

I Love to Swing!

Bodee hadn't been in his swing in a while so last Sunday I decided to put him in it. He seemed huge in it! He liked the fastest setting the best, and was even pushing back and forth with his own body! That sparked an idea - let's try out a real swing at the park! Very exciting! He did really well for his first time in a "big kids" swing! :)

Go Pink!

On October 3rd we joined 50,000 other participants as we "walked for the cure." We walked (not ran, and yes, I was still sore the next day) a 5k downtown Denver. It was a very inspirational (and pink) race! It was really great to be a part of as raising money for any sort of cancer research is very important! Here are a few pics from our day:

This is how we found B race morning. He looks like a little peanut.

Almost to the start!

Treckin' down Colfax..

B's first 5k!

Entrance ramp loop - looks like a pink ribbon from the sky.

See you next year, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure!

Congrats Riesslands! We had a blast celebrating with you!

Oktoberfest 2010!

Bier, brats and lederhosen - you really can't go wrong with that combination! Welcome to Oktoberfest 2010, Breckenridge style. The Petersons joined us as we hit up the celebration a few weeks ago. Yep, we were the parents who brought our babies to Oktoberfest. Little did we know there would be strollers everywhere! It was great!

On our drive up we took the Loveland Pass route. It was Bodee's first time crossing the Continental Divide so of course we had to stop for a pic.

Cheers! We felt like such veterans with our steins from Oktoberfest 2007 when we went with my parents.

Bodee was thirsty too. Oh, how life changes with a little one..

Bodee loved the party! All smiles.

Cheers to pushing large strollers through heavy crowds!

It was really pretty being up in the mountains.

We ran into the Johnsons. Val loves Bodee!

Back at the condo. Jack helping Bodee jump. They're such great pals.

Earlier in the week Bodee turned 4 months old! Already?! He's getting so big, and of course is super handsome. :)
