Snip snip snip...

I finally did it... I chopped off over 10 inches of my hair to donate! It will be made into a wig for a little boy or girl who has lost their hair for any medical reason. I feel so happy knowing that it will make some little boy or girl feel good and confident in themselves as they'll have hair again.

I've always wanted to donate my hair but think it finally hit me that I really should do it after watching my mom lose her hair as she battled breast cancer. She was so proud and strong sporting her inch long hair, but before it grew that long I know she felt comfort in wearing a wig as it made her feel normal again.

As you know, I've also battled cancer but was lucky enough that the treatment I received did not cause me to lose my hair (well, besides the chunk across my forehead. Remember my nickname - Frankenwife?). ;) I was fortunate enough to not lose my hair, but so many people battling diseases like cancer are not. It was the least I could do to donate my hair, and I'm so glad I did. Here's the "after" pic:

I donated my hair to Children with Hairloss. The more commonly known hair donation organization, Locks of Love, does not accept hair with any sort of color treatment and my hair had been hi-lighted. For those of you out there looking to donate your color treated hair please check out Children with Hairloss here: http://www.childrenwithhairloss.us/
